Meeting Dr Torsak and the OT and PT

Monday June 30
Today we had breaky and went out for a walk to the shops and Flynn had another cup of strawberry sorbet.
We talked with Dr Torsak and revised Flynn's program a little to include 5 out of 6 lumber punctures and one IV injection which he will have tomorrow afternoon. Dr Torsak said that Flynn will also have 3 sessions in the hyperbaric chamber per week and I will have to go in it with him- the benefits of which would be that  I will go home a little younger.
We went back on the train to the MBK centre and Flynn was entertaining the people on the train as he repeated the names of the stations as we approached them.
Flynn ate all of his pork chop, pumpkin, apple and chocolate cake tonight and off to bed for a big day of therapy which we will tell you about tomorrow.

More of Sunday 29th June

Blood test
Flynn had to have a blood test this morning and the poor bugger carried on like a pork chop, it took three of us to hold him down and because he moved we had to take more in his other arm.
After that ordeal we went to the local shopping mall called Emporium and checked out all floors, lifts and escalators. On the top level there is a grocery store that has everything you need. we dropped our shopping off to our room and went out to explore Bangkok by train and then to the MBK cenre which is full of markets with every possible thing. We didn't buy anything this time, however, Flynn did have his eye on a new watch. We took a couple of photos of elephants, the pink one is for Tess and the other for Patto. One day we will go and ride the real elephants.

Back to the hospital for a swim, dinner and bed. Tomorrow we meet the doctors and have an OT assessment.

Hospital - Meet the staff

Hospital - meet the staff
We arrived and the nurses met Flynn and weighed him, we were shown around and went out to explore the local area.
Sunday the 29th June
We woke and had breaky, our eating area is in the corridor where Flynn is once again in his element as he is only 10 metres away from the lift.

Bangkok- Arrival

On the flight from Kuala Lumpar there were only 63 on a 300 seat plane so Flynn and I went down the back of the plane near the toilets and Flynn entertained the male host and female hostesses. He was giving them the thumbs up and couldn't stop laughing at their accents.
I have noticed that Flynn is being lazy with hhis speech and not saying the first syllable with some words. One of the classics when the crew asked him where he was going was Bangkok!
We arrived after anothe couple of hours flying and was greeted by a helpful man who used to star in a James Bond movie, the one who frisbeed his hat at cut off heads and arms.
Off to hospital in a flash bus compared to the bus we were collected in in China was a 1970 econo-van and the seat Flynn sat in was not bolted to the floor and didn't have a seatbelt.

Darwin to Bangkok

DARWIN - FRIDAY 27TH JUNE, 2014

We left Cairns on the 7.40am Jetstar flight, but before we did we visited the Qantas lounge where we had a lovely breaky- thanks very much Kim!
After we arrived, we settled in to the Rydges airport hotel and got ready to visit the thriving metropolis of Darwin. Flynn was keen to cut loose on the wave pool and check out the scenery at the lagoony.
Mick's dad and brother John picked us up and dropped us off. it was nice to catch up with them.
We also caught up with Herbie and his two daughters in the arvo before going back to our hotel, ordering Chinese and going to bed early for our 2.30am wake up.
Saturday 28th June, 2014
Up early and to the airport for the next part of our adventure.
Flynn was a legend on the plane to Kuala Lumpar and watched iceage 3 and listened to the latest hits on the radio. The plane was chockas and we were at the last three seats of the plane right next to the only toilets. Flynn was in his element and went at least ten times on the 5 hour flight.
We had a 4 hour stopover in KL and jumped on the trains that went from terminal to terminal just to kill some time.
