Monday July 7 - Crook day
Flynn woke up at 6.15am and seemed like he was fine, we had breaky and skyped Mummy. By the end of Breaky, Flynn was falling in a hole and had a sore head. - (while I am writing this sentence it is actually 7.28pm and Flynn had just finished a cup cake that Jenni made and we brought with us frozen in the plane. He has just finished it and got up and washed the bowl out in the bathroom sink -what a good boy!)
Back to the morning story - Flynn went to OT at 10.00am and struggled as his head was sore and he started to feel sick. Here's a picky of him on the bed in the OT session
Poor little Flynny. He had a spew in Ot and we went back to the room for a rest. As long as he is laying down he is OK and can eat and rink. At 1.00pm we went down to aquatic Therapy but Flynn was not well, his head hurt and he felt sick. the doctors decided to give him some medicine to stop the spewing and some paracetamol (because I was trying to finish the blog in the dark I must have turned the touchpad mouse off and had to google help on my phone to fix the problem)
Anyway, Flynn is feeling a lot better now and I hope he is feeling normal can do all of his therapy tomorrow.I have include a lot of Flynn taking his tablets - washed down with some gluten and dairy free chocolate.

Sunday July 6th
Sunday July 6th
We woke up and Flynn was keen to cook pancakes so we went up to the kitchen and started, Flynn had eaten one when he had a big spew on the kitchen floor. I cleaned it up and went back to the room for Flynn to lay flat and rest. He didn't lose his appetite and scoffed the rest of his pancakes, as long as he laid flat he was OK. After watching DVD after DVD it was lunch time so I put it next to Flynn and he ate the lot. At 3.30pm Ethan and Trish got back from dreamland and told us all about it, Flynn was very excited and seemed better, we went downstairs and chatted to the nurses for a while to make sure that he was OK. We decided to go to the shops as we needed a few supplies and we were keen to get out of our room. We did the usual rounds of the Emporium and Flynn had a Mango and lemon sorbet cup and I had a late lunch of Piri Piri chicken breast, fries and salad which meant that I only needed a sanga for dinner.
We headed back to the hospital and went for a swim. After we swam We had dinner and Flynn had his usual cake and off to bed. Tomorrow we only have two sessions and finish at 2 o'clock so we will head out on the train to the MBK centre and explore.

Saturday July 5 - Day after 1st lumbar puncture
Saturday July 5 - Day after 1st lumbar puncture
Little Flynn had a great nights sleep and as usual woke at 6am. He seemed as good as gold after his procedure and we ate breakfast and relaxed for a while. Flynn had his weekly measurements of weight and calories etc and then we were informed that his schedule had changed to have OT at 11 so we went for a quick walk to the shops and returned in time for OT. Flynn seemed a little tired and we headed back to our room for acupuncture with Dr Mozzie. After this Flynn wanted to go out again and we decided to go on the train but Flynn got a little crook on the way and started spewing. We headed back to the hospital where we are now relaxing on the bed and eating dinner. I am sure he will be fine tomorrow, it is a result of the Lumbar puncture - very similar to what happened last time.
Here is a photo of Flynn during OT, he wears headphones with classical music to aid in his concentration. At times there may be a lot things happening in and around the therapy room so I am sure it helps Flynn focus.
Tomorrow we were hoping to go to Dreamworld, however, we will do something less strnuous. we need Flynny strong for next week. Maybe next Sunday we will go to Dreamworld.

Friday July 4
Friday July 4 - First Spinal Tap
We started the day at 8am with a turn in the Hyperbaric chamber and Flynn was great, he had no problem with his ears and he put the oxygen mask over his mouth and nose. After that we went and had breaky then off to Physical therapy with Mai. Another Km on the treadmill and lots of fun activities.
we then went to the park to play with Ethan.
We had another sorbet in the Emporium centre and back for lunch before acupuncture with Doctor Mozzie
At 2pm the nurses cam and put an IV line in Flynn in preparation for his lumbar puncture. We waited until 6pm without food or water and finally Flynn was called. I was allowed to be with him while he fell asleep and then the Doctors administered the stem cells. Flynn was back in our room after about 15 minutes and was slowly waking up, he had to lay on his side and keep his head flat for the next four hours. He was a little sad but was ok after a little while and a Skype to mum. It is now 3 hours after the procedure and Flynn has been nibbling on cake and sipping water while keeping flat. I am surprised that he is still awake, maybe it is the Thomas, Franklin and Chuggington DVDs that are keeping him awake.
Hopefully he will be fine tomorrow and not have any headaches. A little pic in the operating room before the procedure.

Thursday July 3
Thursday July 3
Today was a little more tropical than the past few days and Flynn started with OT and we then jumped on a train to the MBK centre for a wander around the shops. we came back for more acupuncture and Physical therapy.
We then took off agian on the train to Siam where we met our friends Judy and Ros from the Trinity Beach Lions club at the Novatel. The ladies were wonderful and took it in turns to take Flynn on a tour of the hotel which included a few trips in the lifts and a visit to the toilet. It was great to catch up with Judy and Ros.
Tomorrow is a very busy day with it starting at 8am in the Hyperbaric Chamber. We then have all therapy before Flynn's first Lumbar Puncture in the late afternoon. I took a photo of the Hyperbaric chamber this morning. Flynn thinks it looks like a plane or rocket. What do you think Flynn is thinking???

Wednesday July 2
Wednesday July 2 - Hyperbaric and acupuncture.
This morning we had Physical therapy and Flynn power walked and ran for another km and lots of other stuff. Then we went out to explore the park which was lots of fun, on our way back we had to visit the massive shopping centre and get a ride in the lift.
The hyperbaric chamber looks like a little rocket and Flynn and I had to squeeze in together. We will get a photo of it tomorrow and post it. For the first 5 minutes you have to constantly equalise your ears to relieve the pressure- similar to in an plane taking off and landing, however, this is constant for 5 minutes. Flynn was a little distraught at the beginning but settled into it as he was able to watch a Thomas show on the ipad outside of the chamber.
here is Flynn in his chamber gear, we won't show any pics of Dad in his!
After the chamber Flynn had OT therapy and was kept very busy by June fo the whole hour.We heade back to our room for Flynn to have some acupuncture. Doctor Wit, from the Wit family, was an awesome Doc as he kept Flynn laughing while he put the needles in his head.He called himself Dr Mozzie because the Mozzie gives a little sting as it bites - similar tothe needle. Only five today and this will increase every session.

Tuesday July 1 - First Stem Cells
Today we got up and had a Physical Therapy session at 9.00am and Flynn enjoyed it.
We had three hours to kill before our next session so we went for a walk to the shopping centre to get a couple of things. We spotted an olympic size pool and will check it out tomorrow. Flynny had a mango sorbet and we headed back to the hospital for lunch.

Tried to download a video but did not work!
Flynn had an OT session which was also quite physically demanding for him in the afternoon followed by his first stem cells which were administered by IV. All went well.
After the IV we went to the kitchen which is up a spiral staircase and cooked pasta..Flynn also had a few prawns and then off to bed. All therapy sessions tomorrow including the Hyperbaric Chamber and Acupuncture.
