Sunday 13th July We woke at 7 and headed off to the kitchen to cook our Sunday morning pancakes. One of the cooks popped in for a quick photo.
Photo bomb
Flynn said that he had a little headache so we didn't risk a full day out at dreamworld where we would be in the stinking hot and stuck if he got crook. We decided to go to the Chatutchok markets where we could return if Flynn was not well. A trip on the train for 12 stops to Mo chit station and a short walk to market heaven or hell as it was stinking hot, however Flynn got a few bargains and even got a calculator so he could put his own price in to bargain with the locals. We got out of there after an hour and got on the train back to the MBK centre for the air con and a wander around.. A short stroll to Siam square and back to the hospital for a swim in the arvo. Flynn had a ball in the pool, however he drank a heap of the pool water and got crook after dinner and lost it all. This didn't stop him requesting his cake!. Off to bed and hope he is fine tomorrow. Maybe he got sick because he was so sad that he is missing school tomorrow.
Saturday July 12 - the day after! Flynn stayed awake until 10.30pm last night and could not stop eating, he gutsed his dinner and had a cake and kept asking for more of his snacks. I stayed awake for another hour to make sure that he didn't move over. He woke this morning at 7.00am and seemed normal except for being tired. We ate breakfast and Flynn said he had a headache so he had some panadol which made him feel better. At 1.00pm Flynn had acupuncture and then OT where I said he can only do table work today. This was followed by the hyperbaric chamber and then a casual swim in the pool. Tomorrow we will cook Flynn's gluten and dairy free pancakes in the morning and if he is still OK we will head off on an adventure to Dreamworld.
Friday Lumbar Puncture Day It is Friday night 2 & 1/2 hours after the procedure and Flynn is on his side in his bed, he has eaten his Fish stew, chicken salad and chocolate cake while watching Thomas - Day of the Diesels. I am hoping he will fall asleep soon. We are also hoping he will be fine tomorrow. We will have a very quiet day with 3 sessions of light therapy and not go out.
Cup Cake Morning - July 11 Up at 7 and Mummy skyped then off to the kitchen to cook cupcakes. Flynn was a great help and loved cleaning the bowl and spoon with his tongue.
When the cakes came out he couldn't wait to scoff them, but he had to eat his breaky first!
Thursday July 10 A busy day with a bit of attitude today. Flynn got through everything very well and we started with OT with June which was about 40 minutes of exercise and 20 minutes of table work. Flynn finds the table work, which includes writing etc, quite challenging, however, it is exactly what he needs more of. Flynn started off on the treadmill and jogged for 1.4km which was the longest continuous run he has ever done.
We took off to the shops for a walk and did the usual rounds before acupuncture with Dr Mozzie. Flynn has 15 needles in his head now.
A session of PT and the hyperbaric chamber before we took off for a walk to get Dad a pizza. Trish and Ethan tagged along for the walk. Flynn has his lumbar puncture in the arvo at around 5.00pm. Have a great day everyone on Friday,
Wednesday July 9 Today was a great day, Flynn was full of beans and happy to do everything. We started off going on the train to the next station with Ethan and Trish and check out Terminal 21 shopping centre. Nothing special and headed back to have aquatic therapy with Mia - pronounced Me. Flynn loved it in the water, especially when he had to get some objects off the bottom.
Then it was time for acupuncture with Dr Mozzie and because we had 2 hours until OT we took off to the park for a play. Flynn loved playing on the equipment, and then he wanted to go into the Emporium shops for a browse. At OT Flynn spent the first 15 minutes on the treadmill and then some throwing games and finally some work at the table with June. He enjoyed the session.
We had dinner and off to bed for a busy day tomorrow. Have fun and love to all followers!
Tuesday July 8 - Flynn comes good! Flynn slept in this morning until 7.30am and ate his breaky before we went to OT. i could tell he wasn't 100% as he was still pretty quiet. He managed to get through the OT hour - only just!
Then wanted to go back to his room for a rest on the bed. Dr Mozzie came along and Flynn had acupuncture and ate his lunch. He complained of a sore head so they gave him some medicine orally, something like panadol and we went to PT where he only lasted 30 minutes because he was a bit sore in the head and we didn't want to push him before his hyperbaric chamber session. after the chamber session Flynn was back to his normal self so we got the train to the MBK centre and checked out all the shops.
Flynned grabbed a few of their calculators and bartered with them. It is good to see him back to his old cheeky self. We headed back to the Emporium shops to get dinner for me and back to hospital ready for an exciting day tomorrow.
