Tuesday July 22nd

Tuesday July 22nd - the day after stem cell number 5.

Today we slept until 8.00am and were woken by Doctor Torsak at the door. Flynn bounded out of bed and greeted the Dr and the nurses and told them he was feeling good, no headache, no fever or back pain.
We ate breakfast and relaxed for a few hours and did some writing and puzzles, read a book and did some colouring in.

Dr Mozzie came to visit an put 15 needles into Flynn's head and then we set off for OT with Nicky.

 After Ot we cooked cupcakes and Ieker came and chatted with us about our stay and previous treatment.

The cup cakes came out looking good and Flynn gave one to the cleaner, we arenot sure what they taste like as they are a different brand than we are used to cooking and we substituted oil for margarine and mixed it by hand instead of by electric mixer. Flynn will eat one soon and we will keep you in suspense. Off to bed soon as we had a late night last night and the lumbar knocks Flynn around a little.

Monday July 21 - Stem cells number five.

Monday July 21 - Stem cells number five.
Today we had an early appointment in the hyperbaric chamber at 8.00am today and watched an hour of Pepper Pig on the ipad.  Flynn then reminded me that we didn't cook pancakes yesterday because we went to Dreamworld and we should cook them today. I only let him eat one big one as he had Aquatic therapy at 10.am and if he drank a lot of pool waterlike he normally does, he might spew up pancakes in the pool.
After OT we took Ethan and Trish off to the MBK centre on the trains and got some DVD's and key rings and a special present for Tess and Patto. We had to rush back to the 'hotel' so Flynn could eat before OT at 2.00pm as he is fasting after 2 before his lumbar puncture. 
At OT Flynn was excellent and loved the well organised session with Nicky. 

Flynn did an activity where he had to use an ink stamp on paper which were different animals, he then had to say the specific animal and write it down on paper. I assisted with the spelling. I was impressed with his writing.

We then headed up to our room for the IV line to be put in, Flynn was very brave and was happy until the line stopped working after about 30mins and they had to put another in his opposite hand. He was a little distressed when they pulled the original line out but didn't flinch when they put the second in.

He is now looking a little weary 3 hours after the Spinal Tap and has eaten his dinner while lying flat ant watching Franklin and Pepper Pig. Another hour and I'll ask the nurses to take his IV line so he can go to sleep.

Flynn has been a little legend over the past few days and I am so proud of him.

Sunday July 20 - Dreamworld

Sunday July 20 - Dreamworld
What a great day at Dreamworld. We left at 9.40am and after an hour in the taxi we arrived and went on everything we could.

Back to the'hotel' in a taxi after a very busy and action packed day at Dreamworld.

I took Dad to the pub for his dinner then skyped mum and off to bed for stem cell injection number 5 tomorrow afternoon.

Saturday July 19 - Zoo Day
What a busy day Flynn had as we started with Pt with Beeand then OT with Sher followed by acupuncture with Dr Mozzie and then on a train and taxi to the Zoo.We took a lot of video which we will show when we get home.

Great time at the Zoo and then went on train to Emporium to get Dad some dinner, then back to the hospital to eat my lovely Pork, carrot and cucumber dinner. Cake and bed ready for a big day at Dreamworld tomorrow.

Friday July 18 - Busy day
A very busy and effective day for Flynn with some very challenging behaviour - at times. Flynn started the day with aquatic therapy and Nit was his therapist.

At OT Flynn decided to continue coughing and occasionally spitting so I got him a mask which stopped the challenging moment.

Cher dropped some beads and buttons which caused excitement on the floor.

 Flynn had it all under control

After OT and PT and some skyping with Mummy, Patto and Tess, Flynn was dying to get to the pub and ealthough there was some challenging behaviour exhibited by Flynn, I decided that ther was more good behaviour than bad and took him to the pub - The Robin Hood.

Thursday July 17

Thursday July 17
Today Flynn had yummy banana cake and ham for breaky and then off to aqua therapy with Mia which was a lot of fun, however, Flynn was naughty and drank the pool water. At 11.00am Flynn had acupuncture with another 14 needles in his head and then OT at 1.00pm with Joon.

Flynn and I jumped on the train to the MBK centre to exchange mum's handbag as it was dodgy and we had some Macca's chips for a treat and then back to the Hospital. to skype Mummy and the kids before they went to bed. Then off to the Emporium to get some dinner for Dad. Flynn wanted to go back to the Pub, but I told him we will go tomorrow if he is good - what a bad influence he is on me! We caught up with our new friends from Cooper Pedy and Flynn had a lovely time watching Nanny Plomb with Imogen.

Off to bed after a yummy dinner and ready for a busy day tomorrow.

Wednesday 15th July

Wednesday 15th July
Flynn slept in until 8.00am and looked a little tired after his late night, however he did not have a headache which is a bonus. We had a cruisy day which started at 11.am with acupuncture and Dr Mozzie and then a meeting with the nutritionist before we had OT. Flynn enjoyed OT with Joon.

Straight after OT we went in the Chamber and watched Chugington and Pepper Pig for an hour. Patte and BJ looked after us. Flynn kept teasing them with his crackers.

Off to the moon!

Flynn took his dad to the pub after the chamber where Flynn checked out the toilet and Dad had a $3 pint of Carlsberg. then we headed off to the Emporium to have a sorbet and get dad some dinner at the chicken place. Back to the hospital, or the hotel as Flynn calls it, for dinner, a skype, a cake and bed.
